Winter Tempest
As winter came, so did the time to create a season-inspired character.
The challenge was to create a "Winter" or "Ice" Queen, the one that old cultures would rever as the goddess responsible for the season.

As far as passion projects go, this is one of my all-time favorites so far!

Master of Dry Ice: Vanne_pizanna

Created in-studio with 2 Godox strobes, and tons of dry ice, then composited all together. Lightning photographs taken years ago in my rooftop during a thunderstorm.
Below you can see the entire compositing process as a timelapse using Photoshop.
An interesting tidbit about this image, is that I had to go through it twice, since my first try was destroyed by a strange photoshop memory/buffer/ram crash that just rendered de PSD file useless. Lots of cursing, but totally worth it!

We also experimented with on-camera effects and shots, including dry-ice behind our model and some "shiny-sticker-up-close-to-the-lens" bokeh, lit by a separate flash.
One thing we wanted to try out, was using translucid plastic sheets, as ice and tons of dry ice. Kinda worked. Still need to experiment more with that technique.
